About GlobalEd

This GlobalEd website is a collaborative expression of the Equipping Community of Practice (ECOP) of Mission Global of The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. Members of ECOP from Canada and around the world have contributed this content.

The goal to strengthen equipping ministries globally in both the formal and non-formal spheres of training is threefold:

  • Develop an effective and vibrant network within the equipping community

  • Share current issues and best practices with voices from all global regions

  • Resource members and non-members with this repository contributed from this network

Formal training is equipping leaders at the institutional level of a university or college, offering a degree or diploma. Non-formal training is equipping leaders in programs, seminars and courses that offer certificates, often delivered in a modular format. Both are key elements to training leaders for Great Commission work.

Our history

Since its beginning in 1919, the Pentecostal Assembly of Canada has focused on training local leaders. The formal department of GlobalEd began in 2005 under the leadership of Dr. Irving Whitt. Since 2015, Dr. Kirk Kauffeldt has provided significant strategic focus to the equipping of leaders globally by launching the GlobalEd Institute, the Equipping Community of Practice and consulting broadly. This resource repository is designed to provide a collaborative space for the equipping community globally.
